Welcome To Bastet's T∆mb, Home Of The Cat Family
Dating back to over 1,000 years ago (2890 BCE), we all know the Egyptians worshipped cats and Bast (also known as Bastet and other names) was their main deity in Lower Egypt as the goddess of warfare and was depicted as a lioness. She later became a major protector deity represented as a cat. Bastet is the goddess of cats, protection, joy, dance, music, family, and even love. Her former home, Bubastis (now known as Tell-Basta) located along the River Nile in the Delta region of Lower Egypt held celebrations in honor of this goddess. The town was said to have attracted around 700,000 visitors consisting of adult men and women who arrived on large numbers of crowded ships. The women engaged in music, singing, and dancing on their way to the place. Sacrifices were made and large sums of wine was drunk.
The Egyptians gave deep respect for cats and admired them for their abilities to rid the homes and crops of vermin such as mice, rats and snakes. Some cats of royalty were dressed in golden jewelry and were allowed to eat from their owners plates. Jewelry was highly valued in Ancient Egypt and was a very important part of their culture because it was believed that it would help them in the afterlife if jewelry was in their tombs. Jewelry was also used as lucky charms and gave them the sense of feeling closer to the gods and goddesses. Egyptians that had gold, silver, or rare stones usually meant they were rich or royal. If they had shells or copper, it often meant they were poor or not important. Here at Bastet's Tomb, we don't believe that. Each piece of jewelry is unique in it's own way, but we value our jewelry because it lasts and is worth every buck. We want our customers to be satisfied with every purchase and aim to combat the high prices of other businesses. It's time to throw out your old cheap jewelry and replace it with brand new stock that keeps it's colour, stays shiny, is resistant to breakage and moisture. Spread the word to loved ones, friends, family, relatives, neighbours, and even coworkers because our mission is to provide the sense of happiness, protection, and love that everyone needs.
